The European “Green Deal”
With the European Green Deal, the EU is setting ambitious goals for a sustainable future.
A central component is the new Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, which came into force on August 17, 2023. It ensures
that batteries become more environmentally friendly, transparent and efficient throughout their entire life cycle. An important component is the digital battery passport,
which records all relevant data on the origin, composition and recyclability of a battery – a decisive step towards a resource-conserving circular economy.
